Building the Flywheel:Creating Sustainable Revenue & Profit Growth

Lean Canvas with Rik Dryfoos

I caught up with an old friend and colleague Rik Dryfoos this week. Rik introduced me to the Lean Canvas (a modified version of the Business Model Canvas) many years ago. Rik and I discuss the importance of analyzing all three elements of desirability, feasibility and viability when thinking about new or enhanced products, and how the Lean Canvas can be used to help with that thinking.

In the first part of the conversation, we discuss why it is critical to understand all three aspects of a potential product:

  1. Desirable - Does anyone even want this thing?

  2. Feasible - Is it even possible for us to actually build this thing?

  3. Viable - Should we build this thing? Can we get it to the right customers? Are we legally allowed to?

I really enjoyed the conversation, and I hope you do as well.

P.S. subscribe to see part 2 of the conversation where we dive into how the Lean Canvas helps answer specific questions around these three pillars of a product and business model.
